Salt Water Shack Grub 4″

The Shack 4 inch grub in “Cali” style features a short fat tightly ribbed style body and a flat, wide tapering shakey style tail that flutters and kick with the smallest movement imparted by rod tip or current. The combination of the chunky body and excellent fluttering, squirming like swimming action provided by the tail which attract fish from a distance, makes these grubs irresistible for all predatory fish.

The 4-inch grub’s versatility allows it to be used in multiple rigging and presentation methods:

• Jighead Fishing: Pair with a 1/8 to 3/8 oz jighead for casting and retrieving in open water or along the bottom. A steady retrieve with occasional twitches mimics a swimming baitfish, ideal for striped bass or redfish. For flounder, bounce or drag it slowly along the bottom.
• Texas Rig: Use a light bullet weight to fish around vegetation, docks, or oyster beds, making it weedless for targeting redfish or snook in shallow, structure-heavy areas.
• Carolina Rig: Effective for covering deeper flats or channels, allowing the grub to float naturally above the bottom for species like flounder or speckled trout.
• Drop Shot: Nose-hook the grub for a subtle presentation in deeper or clear water, targeting finicky fish like sea bass.
• Jig Trailer: Add to a bucktail jig or swim jig to enhance action and vibration, attracting aggressive species like bluefish or Spanish mackerel.
• Drift Fishing: Cast upstream or along the current and retrieve at a depth where the grub occasionally ticks the bottom, ideal for inshore species in tidal zones.

• Inshore: Grubs excel in estuaries, flats, marshes, and nearshore structures like jetties or piers, where they imitate small baitfish, shrimp, or crabs.
• Surf and Breakers: Effective just beyond the surf zone for species like bluefish or striped bass, especially with a steady retrieve or slow roll.
• Clear Water: Use natural colors (e.g., white, Watermelon or  Green Pumpkin) for clear conditions to match local forage.
• Stained or Murky Water: Opt for brighter colors ( Electric Chicken, pink or chartreuse ) or solid high contrast colors like black or white.
